“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus”

Philippians 4:19 (NIV).

The lesson about God providing which we talked about last time has proved invaluable, especially as our society has seen a recession and economic downturn. I hate to admit it, but I think I’d forgotten for a while that God is our suppler, not ourselves, and I got lazy. God took an opportunity this summer to remind me just who exactly is in control. I was again met with a budget which had been tweaked, leaving mostly necessities, but not knowing how they were going to get paid. Giving it to God was hard at first, but got easier as day-by-day I thanked Him for His provisions before we even saw them.

If I were to write it down on paper, it would be déjà vu. The numbers won’t add it. Despite what paper says, I have confidence God will provide the money needed in the necessary time. And I’m certain my trust in Him regarding this area of my life pleases Him. He doesn’t want me to worry about budgets and bills and financial statements. When I’m obeying His principles, tithing on a regular basis (giving back to God the first 10% of the money He has blessed us with), and using our money wisely, I can confidently approach our financial future knowing God rewards trust and obedience.

And, my friend, what God is willing to do for me, He wants to do for you as well. Is there an area of your life where you need God to intervene? Have you invited Him in and asked Him to fill in the blanks? Are you willing to praise Him for His provisions, trust Him for the uncertainties, and obey His guidelines outlined in His word?

When done God’s way, sit back and watch how the principles of GWP (God Will Provide) apply for you. It’s pretty exciting, in my opinion. Again, I would love to share in your success stories with you if you want to comment below.
