“Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders—he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.
He’ll never let good people topple into ruin.” Psalm 55:22 (The Message)

I have a friend that has been heavy on my heart lately. This friend is truly miserable where employed.  Many things factor into that, but every day this friend dreads going to work.  I have reached out in prayer support for this friend and have even asked multiple other friends to pray alongside me for a change in employment.

It hasn’t been until recently that I have realized something. While the situation hasn’t changed, God, in His grace, has blessed this person with a recent friendship which has made the environment slightly more bearable.  There might be other blessings that I’m unaware of, but that one is one God revealed to me while praying.

Another friend was also in a very similar, miserable situation and texted me about two months ago stating the job was terminated without warning. That termination ended up being the best thing to happen to my friend. It gave a time of refreshment and led to an amazing job which was started three weeks ago from when I’m writing this.

God reminded me that what He does for one child, He’s willing to do for another, which gave me hope that if God would rescue one friend, He was willing and able to rescue my other friend.  That got me thinking… I believe that while we have to walk through some very difficult seasons in life at times, I also believe that God doesn’t desire that we are truly miserable every day.

We live in a sinful world.  Until we reach Heaven for all eternity (those of us who choose to accept Jesus’ free gift and choose a personal relationship with Him), we will face difficulty and trials and pain.  God warned us of that multiple times in the Bible.  Not if, when.

I also know that God allows pain, challenges and difficulties, all for a specific purpose.  They help us mature so that we can fulfill the purpose that He has specifically designed each of us to fulfill.

While all of the above is true, I don’t believe that God wills it for any of us to live a miserable life.  I also believe there is a big difference between difficult/painful and miserable.

Come back tomorrow while I finish explaining what God revealed to me.
