Spoken from the Heart: Choosing a Faith-Filled Adventure

I have found, for me, and for my family, when we whisper a prayer that goes something like this, “However You want to use me and my family, Lord, we’re Yours,” it’s safe to say God will answer.

In 2015, Spoken from the Heart: Journey from Fear to Faith was published, followed by two books in 2017 about how God had invited our family into an adventure and we had a choice: we could enjoy the journey or we could spend the time grumbling and complaining. I hate to admit it, but I did a little bit of both.

Three years later, in 2018, I realized that while our family was still on the adventure, God had been teaching me an important truth – one that seemed to take longer to sink in than the lesson about trusting Him.

He took the time to show me it was more about the journey than about the destination. Spoken from the Heart: Choosing a Faith-Filled Adventure was published and in it I stated, “this book, I believe, is the conclusion to (our) adventure.”

When choosing a cover for this particular book, I wanted a picture that would tie the first book, Spoken from the Heart: Journey from Fear to Faith with the next two, Spoken from the Heart: Embracing the Adventure and Spoken from the Heart: The Adventure Continues.

My brother-in-law and sister offered the perfect picture – one which blends the harshness of rocks with greenery and the soothing sounds of a waterfall.

Isn’t that what adventures are? Life will always involve trials; yet, God is always there to offer rest and refreshment in the midst of the harshness of life.

What have been some blessings God has given to you during challenging times in your life? Please share by hitting reply. I’d love to keep this conversation going.
