Remember when I shared a few weeks ago about how God allowed my income during the summer of 2013 to be reduced by a third? When income is reduced, that usually means (not always, though) the workload is lessened too.
God took the extra time I had in 2014 and used it to invite our family to publish six books that year. Just one of the many ways God turns what we may see as burdens into blessings. We got a crash course in self-publishing that year and that knowledge has been used many times since.
Spoken from the Heart: Connections was written as a way to honor those people in my life who have helped influence me. It was also a reminder that God wants us to be connected first to Him, and then to others around us for support, encouragement, and prayer.
The cover picture was taken on a different trail than the picture used for Spoken from the Heart: Taking it to the Next Level, in a different park. It reminds me, though, of that summer and fall when our family took extra time to enjoy being together, connecting.
Since then, our kids have grown and our lives have gotten busier, but we still take time on a regular basis to connect with each other … because family is important and connecting is essential for our physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
Whether an introvert (like myself) or an extrovert (like our daughter), connecting is important. The way it happens is as individual as each human being, but taking the time out of busy lives to connect brings more joy.
What are some ways you connect with friends? What are some ways you enjoy that feeling of community? Please share by hitting reply. I’d love to continue this conversation with you.Â
