I heard this gem of wisdom from a dear friend of mine last summer. I’m in a transition parenting season: one child is fully an adult, one child is transitioning into adulthood and another is still being actively parented. At times that summer I wondered how much of my mom voice I use, and how much I keep silent.
I believe God gives us moms an intuitive spirit to help us keep our children safe, but more importantly, so we can pray with the power of His authority over situations. How many of your prayers have called on God to intervene in the lives of those you love? Probably more than you realize.
Today I want to encourage you. If you find your internal radar going off regarding something in the lives of those you love (children, spouse, friend, relative), don’t ignore it. Take it to God in prayer instead. Seek His will and ask for His help. Your prayer might be what keeps your loved one safe, healthy, and could possibly prevent the beginning of a destructive spiral that could take years to correct.
God gave you the mom voice. Don’t be afraid to use it!
