This year on the Cheer Up Podcast, we’ve been talking about biblical figures – both their roles in history as well as what we can learn from them to apply to our lives today.
In February 2024, we talked about the following couples (love versus lust):
• David and Bathsheba
• Mary and Joseph
• Samson and Delilah
• Ruth and Boaz
In March, we started going through the Old Testament and discussed Adam and Eve and Noah, and today we’re going to delve into the story of Abraham and Sarah (or Abram and Sarai as were their names before God changed them).
Abraham and Sarah’s story begins in Genesis 12 and goes through Genesis 25. One of the things I love about God is how He takes imperfect people and uses them to help fulfill His purpose. The couple faced many challenges throughout their lives, but instead of me telling you about that now, I’ll let you listen to the podcast and find out what we discussed.
Spiritual growth is one takeaway we can learn from Abraham and Sarah’s story, and in order to grow spiritually, we need patience, preparation and endurance. God sometimes does that in us by refining our character through the different trials we must walk through.
Come join the host, Kara R. Hunt and myself as we talk about Abraham and Sarah. One thing we learned was not to deceive the Egyptian Pharoah by making him think Sarah was Abraham’s sister (bad idea …. Very bad idea!)
This episode will be available on Wednesday, March 20th. Click on the image below to head to Cheer Up Podcast to listen.
